Back story often causes beginning writers trouble. If you can relate, I'm sharing tips for revealing back story in a post entitled: "Better a Small Shake than to Inundate."

For a chance to win a critique of the first five pages of your manuscript or a copy of one of my books, leave a comment today, Monday, December 16 at: www.seekerville.blogspot.com

Love Inspired Editor Emily Rodmell visits Seekerville Monday, July 8

Ever wonder what editors are looking for in a pitch? Find out what’s important and what’s not when Love Inspired Editor Emily Rodmell visits Seekerville on Monday. Her post, "How to Pitch Your Book Like a Rock Star," is just in time for RWA Nationals and provides specific details about catching an editor’s attention and interest so you end up with an invitation to submit. Don’t miss this special opportunity to “chat” with Emily. In addition, Seekerville will be giving away a ton of books. Stop by early and often and plan to have a blurb ready to practice pitch. See you Monday!

Book signing photos of The Bride Wore Spurs

Carol, Susie, Barbara and Pat holding copies of The Bride Wore Spurs
I'm very blessed to have wonderful friends who support my books and try to attend every signing. These pictures are from late April when I signed The Bride Wore Spurs at The Bookmark on North Anthony in Fort Wayne.

Lynn, Nicolina, Lou
I've been friends with some of these ladies for years. Some I met in our first neighorborhood and our kids grew up together. Some are friends from church and ladies' Bible study. Some rubber stamp and others play golf and bridge with me. Isn't it fun to see how our lives intertwine?

Colby and Carolyn
Judy and Paula
Lannie owner of The Bookmark
Karen, Barb, Sue and Val

Lannie carries all my books are her shelves. Booksellers are the best! If you're in the area, stop in. The Bookmark has a lot of books and if you missed one of my seven titles, she has them.

Four chances to win a copy of The Bride Wore Spurs!

The cowgirl takes a husband!
To keep the Texas ranch she loves, Hannah Parrish will wed a man she doesn’t. Cowpokes won’t take orders from a young, single female. But while her exasperating neighbor Matt Walker jokes about her being a mere debutante, Hannah is a rancher to the core. Just like Matt.

“Will you marry me?” It’s a question widowed Matt never intended to ask again. Now spirited Hannah is asking him for a marriage of convenience! Yet whether she’s birthing a calf or caring for a young orphan, the tomboy next door is becoming the partner Matt always hope for. Now he must convince her the greatest strength comes in trusting your heart to another—and your future to God….

If you'd like to win a copy of The Bride Wore Spurs, LIH, April 2013, go to Seekerville and leave a comment and to Goodreads to leave a comment in the Q&A. Thanks for your interest in my book!

If you'd like to give me that smile and see yourself on this blog, send those photos to janet@janetdean.net. The most creative fun photo in my opinion will receive a ten dollar gift certificate to Amazon.

The Bride Wore Spurs has a cover!

I want to share the cover of my April release, The Bride Wore Spurs. I'm very pleased and  hope you like it as much as I do.

To tell you a little about the story, here's the back cover blurb:

The Cowgirl Takes a Husband!

Yet whether she’s birthing a calf or caring for a young orphan, the tomboy next door is becoming the partner Matt always hoped for. Now he must convince her the greatest strength comes in trusting your heart to another—and your future to God.…

Leave a comment for a chance to win an autographed copy that I'll send as soon as my author copies arrive. No winners will be selected after the book's release April 2.
